THE MECHANICS OF HOW INSULIN SIGNALS OUR CELLS HAS BEEN DISCOVERED

It is well known that insulin lowers sugar level but until now the actual process of insulin and its interaction with receptor cells was unknown.  Why is this important?  If the actual interaction between cell and receptor is known that information can be used to make more effective insulins or a therapy that could mitigate the burden of diabetes.  The receptor in the cells receives a chemical signal from outside the cell that transmits to a response inside the cell.  Read more about the science behind it here on my Facebook page, This Diabetic Sees Things Differently
